Kevin Stefanski, PJ Walker or the defense: Who deserves the most blame for the Browns L in Seattle?
The Cleveland Browns weren't supposed to beat the Seattle Seahawks, in Seattle, with PJ Walker at QB.
But in the final minutes of the game, the Browns had the ball, up 3, and were driving to close it out. On 3rd and short, Kevin Stefanski dialed up a pass play instead of running it, Walker's pass bounced off a helmet and was intercepted, and the Browns defense wasn't able to keep the Seahawks out of the end zone as Geno Smith stole a home win, 24-20.
So who gets the most blame for how the game eventually ended? Stefanski for calling a pass play on 3rd and short? Walker for missing two open receivers and throwing the INT? The defense for not being able to get a stop on the last drive? Or someone else?
Pierre Strong had a nice showing out of the backfield, as he, Jerome Ford and Kareem Hunt combined for 150+ yards on the ground. After the game though, Hunt complained about his lack of touches in the 4th quarter. Are those comments fair or foul?
The defense, which was gashed last week by Indy, was once again a non-factor in the first quarter of this game, allowing 17 SEA points. However, for the next 43 minutes, group looked like the unit we had saw earlier in the season, holding Seattle to 0 points until the final drive. What's up with the inconsistency of this group?
It's not a Victory Monday, but the sky isn't falling either.
