Jason and Frank are back with another edition of The DFO Rundown and as the first month of the NHL season comes to a close, the guys went around the league and talked about some teams that are really starting to heat up and one team in particular that appears to be heading towards a historically awful season.
Both the New York Rangers and Anaheim Ducks ripped through their recent road trips. The Rangers are making life easy for both Igor Shesterkin and Jonathan Quick with how well they’re defending. Are they now firmly back in the Stanley Cup Contender category?
As for the Ducks, with new Head Coach Greg Cronin at the helm, they seem to be playing some pretty inspired hockey. Can they make a push for a playoff spot? Or is this nothing more than just an early-season heater? The guys debated that.
It is Halloween, so they also talked about their favourite candy, their holiday traditions, and then they talked about the spooky-bad start to the year for the San Jose Sharks. They look like a team that might struggle to win 20 games this season.
They also talked about the tragic passing of Adam Johnson and had a conversation about player safety at both the professional and minor hockey levels.
