Chechi is a first-generation Nigerian-American whose full name means "God's wish" in Igbo. From age 13, Chechi began writing songs and turning heads with her whistle notes. Never thinking that music was an option as a career, Chechi went to college to study medicine. However, when she decided she wanted to pursue music instead, the transition was tough, especially in Michigan. Finding her artistry took time and her final push was when she opened for Brian McKnight, which motivated her to take the plunge. Now having been in Los Angeles for the past six years, Chechi has made a name for herself. This year she performed with Lizzo at the Grammys doing background vocals. She has also been in Kanye's Sunday Service Choir. She fully supports herself with music and has finally convinced her mom that music is what she's meant to do.

ABOUT THE VOICE
The four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series "The Voice" returns as Queen of Country Reba McEntire claims her red chair alongside last season's champ, Niall Horan, and returning superstar coaches John Legend and Gwen Stefani as they vie to discover and coach the next singing phenomenon.
The show's innovative format features five stages of competition: Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, Knockouts, Playoffs and Live Performance Shows.
This season, the block returns to the Blind Auditions, and during Battles, each coach will have two steals to use. The Three-Way Knockouts are also back. This time, however, artists will select their own songs to perform.
Once the Live Performance Shows begin, the top artists will compete against each other weekly during a live broadcast. This time, the television audience will vote to save their favorite artists. In the end, one artist will be named "The Voice" and receive the grand prize of a recording contract.
