231 The stories behind hoarding disorder with Jasmine Sleigh
We all have our own ideas and preconceptions about hoarding tendencies and hoarding disorder. But what about the person that lives in a home like that? Today I am talking to Professional Organiser and author, Jasmine Sleigh, who has written a book all about the stores behind the hoarding.
Professional Organiser since 2013, with an expertise in hoarding and chronic disorganisation. She holds a degree in Psychology and Counselling, and has supported a thousand householders to change their space (the name of her business). Her team are often commissioned as a specialist decluttering service to reduce risks in homes by social services, housing teams and health agencies. The careful coaching of change in homes led Jasmine to write her book: Being Owned: A Decade in Professional Decluttering. It presents the breakthroughs and heartache of working with those for whom keeping or letting go will have huge ramifications.
