We all have an information afterlife. Websites, social media, cloud accounts and other information that goes on without us after we die. What if you suddenly died or became incapacitated? Would your Executor, Power of Attorney, or family know about the existence of your “invisible” online and cloud-based accounts, the ones with no statements or paper trail?
Does your spouse know how to how to log-in into the web of automatic transactions of your checking, savings and other accounts if you become incapacitated? Does your Executor know your password and other log-in information? While your family is planning your funeral and grieving your loss, criminals could be hijacking your website or social media accounts. Do you know how to protect yourself? Because we all have an information afterlife we all need a Digital Estate Plan to address these issues.
