This podcast follow's on from a recent article in the ADEA publication The Australian Diabetes Educator (ADE) regarding diabetes and tuberculosis. Jan Alford chats to Kerri Viney, author and researcher in this area. Kerri was a Registered Nurse and has additional public health qualifications and a PhD in public health. She has worked on tuberculosis (TB) management in several settings in Asia-Pacific and Europe for the past ten years. Currently she is a public health researcher at Australian National University and the Karolinska Institute (Sweden). She has a special interest in all aspects of TB management including risk factors for TB and the association between TB and diabetes mellitus, which is particularly important in the Asia-Pacific context and which was the subject of her PhD. She continues to undertake research on the association between TB and diabetes.
