Law Enforcement Life Coach / Sometimes Heroes Need Help Podcast
Health & Fitness:Mental Health
Melissa Kaiser /. Human Trafficking Expert / Secondary Trauma
This week I was blessed to have the opportunity to sit down with Melissa Kaiser, a subject mater expert in all thing human trafficking and the related areas of secondary trauma and compassion fatigue. Melissa and I discuss the many forms human trafficking takes and she provides insight and skill sets for law enforcement in addressing this often miss understood crime. I learned much from our discussion. On of the key takeaways for me was that I thought like most, that the majority of human trafficking was what I saw in the movies, the drugging of the beauty pageant queen, abduction and transportation to a foreign land. Not the case at all, it rarely happens that way, however unfortunately the more likely scenario is that it's happening with people much closer to the victim than we want to believe. Sit back and give this episode a listen and walk away more informed and inspired for it, Until next week, take care of yourself and each other, God Bless, John
