Middle East tumultuous events revive the specter of end-time prophecies.
Should we be jumping on hyped-up end-time prophecies? The Bible does say to watch (Mark 13:35). But the same verse also says for you know not when the master of the house comes.
Many events must take place, and numerous years are necessary before the Return of Christ. There's much to accomplish between now and then.
Matthew 24:5: "Many come in My name and shall deceive many." That's false prophets and preachers; unfortunately, there are many of them around today and have been for hundreds of years.
"Wars and rumorus of wars, famines, pestilence, and earthquakes, in diverse places. These are the beginning of sorrows. All must come to pass, but the end is not yet." These events can go on for years, and prophetically, there's no timeline for them.
How long before Christ’s Return?
First: Time needed for 2 Beasts to appear suddenly with their world-ruling economic and religious empire. UNKNOWN period, but it must be a few years.
Second: KNOWN 3 ½ years when Beast blasphemes, Jerusalem is trodden down, God’s assembly protected and nourished, and 2 witnesses in Jerusalem.
Before Christ’s Return, we’re looking at a KNOWN 3 ½ years + UNKNOWN more years?
Matthew 24:30-36 They shall see the Son of man coming … But of that day and hour knows no man…
Blessed are they that mourn (Mat. 5:4) over wars, rumors of wars, famine, and pestilence. Unfortunately, it’s the norm, and they shall be comforted. But let's not interpret or be overcome by them.
It’s an error to believe Christ will return now.
I’ve heard about the imminence of Christ’s Return for over 50 years. I even preached it. I was wrong. We must learn from our mistakes.
Mat. 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness to all nations; and then shall the end come.
At the end time, spiritual deception is rampant, AND spiritual truth must be present to test the spirits (false prophets or God).
We can count on events written aforehand in God's Word.
1 Peter 2:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto you do well that you take heed. It’s a light that shines in a dark place.
20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy is of any private interpretation.
21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
God predicts future major political events that will happen.
