10@9 How Much Does a Prayer Weigh - November 13, 2023

This morning we discuss an underlying difficulty with the narrative in our Torah portion, Toldot, about Yaacov and Eisav fighting to receive their father's blessing. Why is a blessing worth fighting over? We utilize a foundational principle of Rabbi Yerucham Levovits, that everything we have comes through prayer. We demonstrate this through the lives of our patriarchs and matriarchs, and apply it to the war in Israel, sharing a prayer written by my grandson. Michael Whitman is the senior rabbi of ADATH Congregation in Hampstead, Quebec, and an adjunct professor at McGill University Faculty of Law.
