Frank is live from the Global Series in Sweden
The NHL’s Global Series is taking place this weekend in Stockholm, Sweden with the Maple Leafs, Red Wings, Senators, and Wild all heading across the pond to each play two games.
To begin today's pod, Frank talked about his trip to Sweden and some of the local cuisine that’s available. They also talked about Swedish star, Elias Pettersson and the red-hot Vancouver Canucks.
They have the league's three highest-scoring forwards and they look like a team that’s taken a step into the elite tier in the Western Conference. One other big story to watch in Vancouver is a potential extension for Pettersson. Frank gave an update on where things stand on that front.
The guys also talked about the current state of the Oilers, who have now won three in a row. Frank also talked about Jack Campbell’s struggles in the AHL.
They also talked about a pair of teams in the Eastern Conference that are on opposite ends of the spectrum. The Washington Capitals are 7-1-1 in their last nine games and are finding success in ways that they really never have before. The New Jersey Devils are incredibly banged up, but Frank is worried that these injuries may be sinking them.
Tyler also popped in for a new edition of Buy or Sell where he asked the guys about the Ducks' chances of making the playoffs, the struggles in Minnesota, and whether or not the Canucks are legit Cup contenders.
