We live in a world in which effective communication is becoming increasingly challenging but increasingly necessary. 

Perhaps surprisingly, the concept of communication is a highly complex one. The authentic intent behind a communication is subjected to filtering based on the receiver's unique internal map or mindset, and is therefore easily distorted.
