This morning we discuss the appellation the Jewish People have, on their own, bestowed on Joseph, Yosef HaTzaddik (Joseph the pious), which is not at all obvious from viewing Yosef's character in this week's Parsha and next. We analyze what it takes to be a Tzaddik, and how we can each get there. Michael Whitman is the senior rabbi of ADATH Congregation in Hampstead, Quebec, and an adjunct professor at McGill University Faculty of Law. ADATH is a modern orthodox synagogue community in suburban Montreal, providing Judaism for the next generation.
