Player Review: Rookie Running Back De'Von Achane
Miami entered the year with Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. expected to be the team's top two running backs entering the 2023 season. That said, it didn't take long for De'Von Achane to run through and steal the show, despite limited playing time. the former Texas A&M running back aeverages 9.5 yards on 56 carries through six games for 534 yards and seven touchdowns.
Achane was targetted four times against the Commanders and it could be argued that yards we left on the field. Miami as one of the league's top receivers in Tyreek Hill — could coach Mike McDaniel be molding Achane to follow in his footsteps?
It was apparent that Miami had top-end talent entering the season, but unexpected stars are pushing this team toward the top of the playoff race.
