Miami's pass rush has battled injuries through the season's first three months, but Andrew Van Ginkel has been a consistent force up front through 12 games. With four sacks, five runs stuffs, and 29 total tackles, he's consistently disrupted opposing offensive lines — on top of a pick-6 and six passes defended so far this season.
Despite injuries, Miami defensive coordinator Vic Fangio leverages Van Ginkel's versatility in coverage and rushing the passer. The Dolphins entered the year with a fierce pass rush, but not many expected Van Ginkel to be fifth on the team in sacks.
It was apparent that Miami had top-end talent entering the season, but unexpected stars are pushing this team toward the top of the playoff race.
