Hank Azaria and Cyndi Carnaghi-Collins continue their discussion on healing the wounded inner child in this new podcast. Our Chief Operations Officer, Dustin Washington, opens this episode by asking our guests to share their experiences with their inner child while working in social justice. Social justice work is important to our future, but it also create spaces where we are trying to create change without healing. Cyndi found herself exhausted in the social justice movement after she realized how much work she had put in and it still didn’t feel like a lot of change. This exhaustion and frustration can lead to us acting as wounded children in our everyday work. Cyndi shares how she felt the most love and success when she was able to enter spaces with a healed inner child. In the second segment of this episode Cyndi and Hank explore the internal pain many of us have from our childhoods. If we do not learn to identify and accept our internal pain we cannot help heal this world. Hank and Cyndi have both found that identifying their childhood triggers has helped them heal their wounded inner child. Their end goal was to understand their feelings to find better reactions that worked for them and the important people in their lives.
