The Ancient land of Israel; it was long ago promised to the Hebrews journeying out of Egypt after four centuries of captivity by their singular sovereign deity: YHWH (Yahweh). The Israelites were commissioned by their God to drive out the hybrid giants from these lands, that the giants had been inhabiting, and so take them as their own. Thus they battled demigods, demonically empowered humans, giants and many other feats unimaginable, in order to obtain their lands. As they moved into these new lands, they were commanded not to follow other nations' practices or beliefs. Just as all humans fail, so too did the Jews. They adored other gods not their own, and adopted practices that God had forbidden them. So deep was their waywardness that God eventually led them into captivity, and then exile! Slowly, they were scattered throughout the earth and reviled by countless nations and peoples for many centuries. But then, just as had been prophesied by the prophet Jeremiah, the Jews were regathered into their own land-- the land of Israel. In 1948, the British gave the land of Israel that they had seized back the Jews, thus fulfilling the prophet's words. In recent years, and since it's establishment, The country of Israel has been the constant focus of a barrage of attacks and violence. So, with so much suffering that the Jews have endured, one might ask, "Is Israel still important to God?" This is a fair and understandable question.
