This morning we discuss how Yaakov and his family face his imminent death, as a model for how each of us should think about this, in order to make our lives more meaningful now. We share two vignettes, one recent and one from the Talmud, about what death feels like. And we share the magnificent poem, "The Valuable Time of Maturity," by Mario de Andrade. Michael Whitman is the senior rabbi of ADATH Congregation in Hampstead, Quebec, and an adjunct professor at McGill University Faculty of Law. ADATH is a modern orthodox synagogue community in suburban Montreal, providing Judaism for the next generation.
