Kyle Meredith Rewind: Keanu Reeves and Dogstar on Reuniting & Listening to Alvvays and The Jesus and Mary Chain
We're taking a few weeks off here on Kyle Meredith W..., but wanted to thank you for listening in this year by sharing some of our favorite interviews from 2023. We'll be back with brand new episodes on January 8th. For now, here's my chat with Keanu Reeves.
Here are the original show notes:
After 20 years apart, Dogstar are back as the trio consisting of Keanu Reeves, Bret Domrose, and Robert Mailhouse. The trio sat down with Kyle Meredith to talk about their new single, "Everything Turns Around," and the songs that will be featured on their upcoming album. The band discussed the journey to making new music, how their 90s songs feel like a different band, and the artists of the 70s and 80s such as Echo & The Bunnymen and Big Star that find influence in the tracks. Keanu goes on to mention how much he’s liking the band Alvvays as well as the importance of The Jesus and Mary Chain’s Psychocandy, while Bret and Robert recount a recent Neil Young show they attended, and then all three recount the time they opened for David Bowie. We also get to hear about their upcoming show at The Roxy and plans for the fall tour, which should eventually cover both coasts.
Listen to Dogstar chat about all this and more in the new episode or watch it on Youtube. Please take the time to like, review, and subscribe to KMW wherever you get your podcasts, and keep up to date with all our series by following the Consequence Podcast Network.
