This morning we examine how Yaakov prepared for his death, and we explore what we should be doing now to make those preparations for ourselves. Part of that is to study and consider what Judaism teaches us about the moment of death and what happens to us after death. We find the way the Torah describes death is beautifully expressed by Jonny Cash. Michael Whitman is the senior rabbi of ADATH Congregation in Hampstead, Quebec, and an adjunct professor at McGill University Faculty of Law. ADATH is a modern orthodox synagogue community in suburban Montreal, providing Judaism for the next generation.
