How Anxiety Affects Black Women - 'Therapy-ish (ft. Takiesha Watson)
In this week’s episode of ‘Therapy-ish, we sit down with Takiesha Watson, a Licensed Professional Counselor providing services at Capturing Thoughts Counseling, her own practice in Austin, TX. Takiesha specializes in solution-focused therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy to focus on each individual client. This episode is all about how anxiety manifests, particularly for Black women. Asha and Takiesha talk everything from the importance of locating the core beliefs behind anxiety, the physical effects of anxiety, how the COVID-19 pandemic affected rates of anxiety, and so much more. Therapy-ish was created with the mindset of removing the stigma around mental health and to help bridge the gap from the streets to the office.
