The SerenityOS project has been developing a from-scratch Unix desktop operating system over the past five years. A five-minute look at what that means and why it's interesting.
The SerenityOS project has been developing a from-scratch Unix desktop operating system over the past five years. The system has excellent vertical integration, since we write all the software ourselves, from standard library to applications. An important part of the project is the Ladybird Browser, a new cross platform browser that's compatible with large parts of the modern Web. This talk is not only an overview over the project and what we are doing, but also an invitation to our assembly and the project in general.
