And the reading is Job chapters 6 through 9. This is dialogue going back and forth between job and his friend, two of his friends. and man, it's trying to really understand where they're all coming from. 0:29 Is the only way to really get through this for me. There's yeah, I could I could skim it and that doesn't do it justice. But if I really want to read it and try to understand their different perspectives, so that I get to the deeper. 0:47 The deeper essence of what God is trying to communicate because it's here for a reason, right? God, put this in scripture for a reason for us to learn from. And one of the things that jumps out at me is that is it eliphaz? Yeah, eliphaz and job and bildad are the three people speaking in these four chapters. 1:11 They all have an inability at least at this moment in time to see The heart of the person, they're speaking to their they're all trying to get their own point across and they're unwilling or incapable of seeing what their dear friend is trying to communicate. 1:35 And that's the lesson I think the Book of Job could have been five chapters instead of 40, however, many if these guys had the ability to listen and absorb what their friends were trying to communicate. 1:58 A job is saying, I just want to die. I go to bed, I look forward to going to sleep, and when I go to bed, I just toss and turn all night long. I get no relief. I just want to die because this is terrible. 2:15 And as friends are saying, clearly, you must have sinned to have brought this, just adjust judgment on yourself and who are you to accuse? God in job is going. I know that you are right. 2:31 I know that God is just I know that God is going to be in control and yet here I am. I don't know what I did. Somebody tell me what I did, so that I can repin. And the truth of the matter is. Sometimes, bad things happen to good people, not just because they did bad things, you know, sometimes we bring judgment on ourselves, like if you speed and you get a ticket and you have to pay a fine, Or you. 3:01 Steal something and you go to jail. Like that's that's Justice, that's judgment and then sometimes bad things happen and it's not even about It's not because you did anything to deserve it, but God allows it because he wants to bring you to a higher place. 3:19 He wants to give you greater understanding because it is through suffering that we gain wisdom. And wisdom is just the proper application of knowledge.
