Break 1 - 16:30 - Next Will Hear About 6 Principles that David adopted in 2015
I read "The Road to Character" that "faith is long obedience in the same direction" and it struck me powerfully that I had lived in that manner and I realized that I had been ungrateful
1. View all of life through the lens of gratitude - after seeing movie "Almost Famous" from the 60's and '70's, about backup singers, of the 7, 5 tried to go out on their own because they were ungrateful and life did not turn out well for them
2. Practice self-imposed Godly optimism - it opens up opportunities and resources that I would have never seen otherwise 3. Recognize that everyone is so much more than I see - scene at end of Wonderman, the bad guy says "why are you saving these people?" and she replies "they are everything you say they are, and so much more". This is exactly the truth that God speaks to us, because of the blood of Jesus 4. Believe in God more than I believe in myself - this has immense practical implications. We can be foolish and arrogant when we believe in ourselves more than we believe in God. We self-edit all our beliefs and aspirations so we don't even undertake God-sized projects. 5. Pursue the path of peace - the test is are we bearing fruit in what we're saying 6. Live in the eternal present - we are citizens of heaven right now
