Those types of people don’t care about us listeners. My grandaddy, god rest his soul, gave me a piece of advice i still hold dear. He told me, “Rio, ain’t nobody who makes more money than you ever had your best interest in mind.” Fere & Howell don’t care about this county. They don’t care about enriching it or making it better for the folks who live here. All they care about is what it can do for them. Penderan ain’t much better. They view themselves as the people who sit at the center of the wheel. The ones that make it turn, and they have no concern for us here on the outside of it.
