Jodi Huisentruit, a well-known television personality recognized for her strong Midwestern accent and radiant smile, disappeared almost three decades ago from the parking lot outside her apartment. Since then, there has been no sign or communication from her.
Originally from Minnesota, Jodi Huisentruit was in her late twenties and working as a morning and noon news anchor at KIMT-TV in Mason City, Iowa during the mid-1990s.
On June 27, 1995, a producer contacted Huisentruit at her home when she failed to arrive at the station on time to prepare for her regular 6 a.m. broadcast. Huisentruit answered the call and explained that she had overslept but was on her way.
However, by 5 a.m., Huisentruit had still not arrived at work, prompting the producer to call her apartment again. Unfortunately, there was no response. Concerned, the staff contacted the local police and requested a welfare check on the news anchor.
Upon arriving at Huisentruit's residence, the police discovered her hairdryer, shoes, and hairspray scattered on the ground near her Mazda Miata. They also lifted a palm print from the vehicle.
Anyone with information about the Jodi Huisentruit case is urged to contact the Mason City Police Department at (641) 421-3636.
