Session 342: Examining Your Relationship With Social Media
Welcome back to another episode of the Therapy for Black Girls January Jumpstart mini-series. All month long we will host conversations with talented Black women leaders across creative and professional mediums to assist you in putting the “P” in prioritizing your personal growth. If you’ve been holding back on doing you, THIS is your sign to jump head first into the possibilities of a New Year.
Joining me to help us explore the connections between mental health and social media usage is Board Certified Psychiatrist Dr. Judith Joseph. Dr. Joseph is an expert on various media platforms and has made national television appearances on Good Morning America, the Today Show, CBS news and more. During our conversation, Dr. Joseph and I discuss how to determine what a healthy use of social media looks like, some small strategies to unplug without quitting social media cold turkey, and ways to avoid comparing yourself to the people on your feed.
