This morning we discuss the structure of prayer, and the specific order of the prayers we say, using the example of how our prayers are arranged to help us reach the Mitzvah of loving God in Shma Yisroel. Based on a lecture by Rabbi Reuven Kimmelman, we uncover the secret to elicit someone telling you they love you, plus a moving story from Rebbetzin Feige Twerski. Michael Whitman is the senior rabbi of ADATH Congregation in Hampstead, Quebec, and an adjunct professor at McGill University Faculty of Law. ADATH is a modern orthodox synagogue community in suburban Montreal, providing Judaism for the next generation.
