Episode #39: The Mozart of Historical Wargaming: Richard Clarke of the Too Fat Lardies
Friends- I had the distinct pleasure of interviewing Richard Clarke, mastermind behind the Too Fat Lardies. TFL can be described in many ways- they are a wargaming group, a company, and even simpler, a group of friends that all share wargaming in common. Their rules are prolific and some of the most played historical wargames in the world, everything from Chain of Command, to What a Cowboy, to I Ain't Been Shot, Mum. I would also argue that TFL rules bridge a nice gap between "fun" and "complexity". Richard and I touched on numerous topics including his start in the hobby, views on wargaming rules, and some of the conflict with The Miniatures Page (TMP) a number of years ago. It was a great chat, and I'm thankful Richard was interested in coming on the show!
