Day 28: Bildad blames Job's sins for their calamity, Jesus challenges a rich man
In Job 8-9, Bildad, one of Job's friends, argues that Job's suffering must be a punishment for sin, urging him to seek God's favor. Job responds, expressing his feeling of helplessness and questioning the justice of God, as he maintains his innocence. Will Job find an answer to why the righteous suffer under God's watch? In Matthew 19:16-30, a rich young man asks Jesus what he must do to gain eternal life. Jesus tells him to keep the commandments, but when the man asks for more, Jesus challenges him to sell all his possessions and follow Him. The young man leaves sorrowfully, leading Jesus to teach about the difficulty for the rich to enter the kingdom of God. Will the young man choose eternal life over earthly wealth?
