Ep. 259 - Cheryl Fossyl: A different kind of justice
In 1977, boys in Georgetown found a decapitated head while fishing. It belonged to Cheryl Fossyl, a local high school junior. No one was ever convicted of her murder, but 30 years into the cold case, her family would fight and win a sort of justice against two men they believed responsible, and against former Brown County officials who had protected them. The civil suit revealed the details of a deathbed confession, and the unexpected motive behind Cheryl's murder.
