Just a couple of weeks ago we heard of the death of Whitney Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown. What went wrong? What could have been done? What should have been done?
Bobbi Kristina was a loved one of an addict, actually of at least two addicts. On this week’s show Denise shares an interview she did with Dr. Kristina Diener just after Whitney Houston died. Diener, a psychotherapist who specializes in trauma, teens, and divorces speaks about being a child of an addict (in this case two) , what happens to the child’s heart and mind when an addicted loved one dies, and what steps can be taken and how others can help. With the death of Bobbi Kristina, we can only guess that much of what should have been done was not and probably, because of her notoriety, things that should not have happened, did.
We are not all celebrities but many of us love addicts. Listen to the interview and learn some tools, strategies, and how to care.
