Addicted to Addicts: Survival 101 – Making the 12 Steps “Kid Friendly”
Denise’s guest this week, Debra Alessandra, is all about helping families to navigate the path of recovery together. Debra has a degree in Education and Sociology from Lycoming College. She is a life-long educator, former counselor, and the author of 12 Steps 12 Stories; an insightful and entertaining collection of stories for parents, grandparents, counselors and members of 12 step recovery programs.
On this week’s show Debra tells us about a unique way she has developed to introduce and explain the philosophy and “feel” of the 12 step program to children. You can read more about Debra and her tools on her website 12steps12stories.com.
It is also getting closer and closer to the Holiday Season and Denise would like everyone to be prepared to have some peace and joy this Season. Check out some of her suggestions on her website. She encourages everyone, if they are thinking of doing any gifting, to consider some of the resources on her Embrace the Holidays page.
