Pacers & Purdue Win, Alan Karpick, Don Fischer and Mike Chappell join!

(00:00-28:54) – Query & Company opens on a Monday with Jake Query sharing his thoughts on the Boilermakers’ 75-69 win against Wisconsin, Zach Edey’s “off” game, and what makes Purdue different. Jimmy Cook joins the conversation to talk about Indiana State’s and Butler’s wins. They finish the first segment talking about how IU has ruined their chance for the NCAA tournament, and how Indiana basketball has changed. 

(28:54-42:28) – Don Fischer, Voice of IU Basketball, joins the show to give details on the 85-71 loss against Penn State, and to answer Jake’s ultimate question, “what happened” to IU basketball? Don also gives his input on the recent NCAA’s name, image and likeness (NIL), guidelines for collegiate sports. 

(45:38-47:13) – Hour one concludes with Jake sharing about the connection he found between Tracy Chapman’s Fast Car performance with Luke Combs at the Grammy’s and the Quality Life Indy event he was at last night. 

(47:13-1:17:48) – CBS4 & FOX59 Colts Beat Reporter Mike Chappell joins, not just for Colts, but to share his thoughts also on recent coaching hires and staff/team setups around the NFL. He then talks about the meaning and importance of the Pro Bowl for NFL teams and the players. 

(1:17:48 -1:31:57) – Jake and Jimmy do a ticket giveaway for Train, REO Speedwagon, and Yacht Rock Revue. They then take time to praise Indiana State and Purdue during their games over the weekend. 

(1:31:57-1:33:12) – Jake gives more of his take on how it’s over for Indiana and time to start new. 

(1:38:06-2:03:49) – Alan Karpick, President & Publisher of GoldAndBlack.com, joins the show to talk on Purdue’s basketball after their 75-69 win, give his thoughts on Zach Edey’s off game, and share his input on the next coming months leading up to March. Jake throws a prediction on Zach Edey’s future Alan’s way for him to grade. 

(2:03:50-2:20:37) – Where’s Eddie? Kielynn fills in for him. Jake and Jimmy switch up and talk about the Pacers’ stats in their 115-99 win over the Hornets. Jake shares the meaning behind the Pacers players being good, but most importantly, being good role models, while recalling British motor racing driver Dan Wheldon’s last race and attitude off the track.
