If 2023 was the year of 'quiet luxury', 2024 is the year of 'loud budgeting', which involves openly discussing financial decisions and constraints and feeling proud to say no to spending non-essential money. 

No longer are we putting ourselves into debt for things we can't afford. Takeout, coffees, food delivery services and streaming are just some of the things Aussies are willing to go without to pinch a few pennies.
