Another lifeless male has been discovered floating in the waters of Lady Bird Lake in Austin, Texas. This fatality signifies the fifth body found within the last six months in the lake's waters. All of these individuals were males aged between 30 and 45, and in most instances, drowning was determined to be the cause of death.
On Tuesday, June 27, Austin Fire Info announced via Twitter that a body, clearly deceased, was retrieved from the water at approximately 11 a.m. During a subsequent press conference later in the day, Austin Police Sergeant Lee Knouse revealed that the body belonged to an unidentified male. No further information, such as the victim's age or cause of death, has been ascertained at this time.
The duration for which the body had been submerged in the water remains unclear. Alongside these fatalities, a number of disappearances have taken place near the lake in recent years.
Knouse also reiterated that police do not believe the deaths are connected, saying each case has been investigated independently.
