Between 1984 and 1985, Bobby Joe Long terrorized the Tampa Bay area of Florida, transitioning from being known as the "Classified Ad Rapist" to a notorious serial killer. Over the course of eight months, he abducted, sexually assaulted, and killed nine innocent women. However, his reign of terror came to an unexpected halt when he inexplicably released one of his victims, who ultimately played a crucial role in his capture. Thanks to her assistance, Bobby Joe Long's killing spree was brought to an end, and he was subsequently sentenced to death. After spending 35 years on death row, he met his fate through lethal injection.
