3 Playmakers The Browns Should Target Pick #54 In The 2024 NFL Draft
n this video, we'll discuss the top 3 playmakers that the Browns should target in the 2024 NFL Draft. From free agency to podcast discussions to news updates, we'll cover all the latest on the Cleveland Browns NFL Draft Targets and NFL Free Agency wish list. Don't miss Garrett Bush of The Ultimate Browns Show details his top 3 playmakers that might be on the board when the Browns are on the clock at pick #54. #1 Troy Franklin Troy Franklin is a lanky wideout with serious wheels and big-play ability, helping unlock Bo Nix’s offense in 2023. The 6-3 wideout is a burner (will run in 4.3s) and one of the top deep threats in the country. He gets loose vertically but also possesses serious quickness after the catch, snatching ankles in the process. According to PFF, Franklin had 37 explosive plays of 15 yards or more and forced 14 missed tackles with the ball in his hands. The best part of Franklin’s game is that he’s not just a straight-line burner; he dices up corners in intermediate routes and can get open on any level. He even added a high-point wrinkle to his game, winning jump balls his junior season. Still, he’ll make the most noise as a vertical weapon and exceptional ball tracker. Franklin is a typical fantasy WR2 with massive ‘boom’ upside– think of a suped-up Gabe Davis with more natural receiver talent and consistency. The former Duck is a day-one impact player who fantasy managers can get at the end of the first round. If he lands in Buffalo or Kansas City — watch out. #2 Xavier Legette Xavier Legette was a late bloomer in college, but one with an NFL-ready frame and ball skills. He lined up all over the field for South Carolina, though he was primarily an outside receiver with vertical responsibilities. While Legette lacks quickness and refinement at the line of scrimmage, he makes up for it with his long speed. He has enough juice to consistently threaten down the field on go routes, posts and deep crossing routes once he starts striding out. He is also a bully-style yards-after-the-catch player thanks to his ample speed and strong build. More importantly, Legette is a devastating contested-catch player. His massive frame and excellent hand-eye coordination make it easy for him to high-point the ball. Legette is also an effortless and flexible mover in the air, which allows him to contort his body as needed to get the ball. Many of Legette's pain points come down to refinement. He is not skilled at battling at the line of scrimmage, nor is he a developed route-runner who can mix up his approach to keep defensive backs guessing. He plays with a fairly straightforward approach. Additionally, Legette can struggle to work back to the ball and make himself friendly to the quarterback. That shows up most on timing routes or when Legette is running across the field and needs to attack the ball so defensive backs don't undercut the route. Legette is an intriguing prospect with size, adequate speed and ball skills. The concern is that Legette is not a dynamic mover, and he is still a work in progress when it comes to the finer parts of the position. Legette would be best in a play-action heavy system that enables his vertical ability and ball skills. #3 Ja’Tavion Sanders Ja’Tavion Sanders is a tight end out of the University of Texas and is projected to be drafted in the second round in the 2024 NFL Draft. He is currently the No. 2 tight end on our 2024 Dynasty Rookie Rankings (SuperFlex) and should be an intriguing option for dynasty teams looking for a developmental tight end piece with major upside. While Bowers should in-theory fit on any team, Sanders, if drafted by a team with the right scheme, could see development in key areas, like what we saw from his sophomore to junior season in Texas. He gained nearly five yards per game on Bowers between 2022 and 2023 while polishing his standout route running. Sanders would be a sure-fire positive offensive addition to teams lacking at the tight end position, but could also be one weapon away from contention. Sanders’ catch rate and power running after the catch make him a valuable pick for many teams. He has, however, been rumored and mocked to Indianapolis to run alongside Michael Pittman Jr. The key to Sanders is putting him in the right scheme to show how he can stand out. The former Longhorn’s blend of size, athleticism, and natural receiving skills make him the second-best tight end prospect in rookie drafts, and he could be a future fantasy weapon in the right situation. #ucss #nfl #browns #football #clevelandbrowns #brownsnews #deshaunwatson #cleveland
