Even though the gold of your true nature can get buried beneath fear, uncertainty, and confusion, the more you trust this loving presence as the truth of who you are, the more fully you will call it forth in yourself and in all those you touch. —Tara Brach
Our hurts, our insecurities, our pain… our anger, our fear, our resentments can make us lose focus on the reality of who we are at our core.
My faith tradition describes us as God’s handcrafted masterpieces imbibed with the breath of life, made in God’s own image. Like all of God’s creation we are good. We are exceedingly good.
We are gold. A gold coin’s valued is unchanged even if it falls into the mud, even if it’s covered in poop. We are no less loved. We are no less cherished. We are no less valued no matter what.
When we embrace the love within and around us… When we center ourselves in love, the mud and poop of our circumstances is cleared away and we come forth as pure gold.
I’m Horace McMillon. This is 60 Seconds of Hope. Peace be with you.
