AJ and Sam learn and discuss Edmund Kemper and his crimes. We discuss his mental illness and different points about his life.
Edmund Kemper, also known as the Co-ed Killer, was a notorious serial killer in California during the 1970s. He exhibited antisocial behavior from a young age and had a troubled relationship with his parents, particularly his abusive mother. Kemper committed his first murders at the age of 15, killing his grandparents. After being diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, he was sent to a maximum-security facility. Upon release, Kemper went on a killing spree, targeting young women. He would pick up hitchhikers, let them go initially, and then later give in to his homicidal urges. Kemper was eventually caught and convicted of eight murders. He is currently serving a life sentence.
