Live in Christ

I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Monday morning, the 11th of March, 2024, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”
Philippians 1:21

William Rutherford said, “Live in Christ, and you are already in the suburbs of Heaven.” Isn’t that beautiful? He says, “One hour’s sailing from the shore of Canaan Land.” Oh my dear friend, yes, we have a work to do, here on earth, there is no doubt about it. We have to tell people about Jesus. We not only have to tell them about Jesus, but we have to show them Jesus by our lifestyle, but when our work is finished, we are going home. I just want to really remind someone who is struggling. This is not our home, we are sojourners, we are travellers, we are simply passing through. Heaven is our home and we can’t wait to get there.

Every morning, I wake up and I walk outside and I smell the fresh new day, its a beautiful day. The birds are singing in the trees, we have got horses and cattle right next door to our little home, and it is just a pleasure to see them grazing and totally at peace, but I know that there is a war going on, and the war is not so much about flesh and blood but its in the heart, its in our mind, its in our very spirit, and we need to remember as Paul, the Apostle said: “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Don’t be afraid to die. Jesus gives you the strength to live and Jesus will give you the strength to die.

What we need to do is to take one day at a time and to live it for the Lord so that when the home call sounds we will be ready, packed and ready to go, not leaving things undone. Oh folks, It is going to be amazing. It is going to be absolutely wonderful! We are going to see our loved ones who have gone ahead of us, we are going to spend time sitting and talking, and eating and spending wonderful time with the Master. I cannot wait to see Him face to face but until then we have work to do, so lets roll up our sleeves and keep on for Jesus Christ.
