58. Lady Bird (2017) Film Review

Before Barbie, there was Lady Bird, Greta Gerwig's solo-directorial debut. Lady Bird is a semi-autobiographical film written and directed by Greta Gerwig about a girl named "Lady Bird" (portrayed by Saoirse Ronan) as she battles her senior year of high school and an all-consuming mother (portrayed by Laurie Metcalf). It takes place in Sacramento, California at the fictional Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic High School. The A24 Rocks crew discusses one of the most critically-acclaimed film's in A24's history, while sharing their own hometown high school experiences and some of their favorite high school films.
