Water supply to SA faces disruptions as Lesotho Highland Tunnel is set for maintenance closure
Water users of the Integrated Vaal River System will be affected when the Lesotho Highland Tunnel is closed for six months. The closure is set to commence on the 1st of October this year to 31 March 2025 to undergo planned maintenance. The maintenance work will be undertaken jointly by the Lesotho Highlands Development Agency and Trans Caledon Tunnel Authority . The shut down will have implications of water supply to South Africa during that period.
