Since we started traveling back in 2011, technology has had some major developments. On our first backpacking trip in Europe, we had to pay for wifi! We didn't travel with phones, and we used paper maps + guidebooks to get us from place to place. There were a lot of times when communication back home, and navigating ourselves around a new city was challenging. Technology has changed that. It has taken away a lot of the challenge of arriving in a brand new city, but it has also provided us with a way to live abroad comfortably. On this episode of the podcast, we share how technology has changed for each of our backpacking trips, and how technologies like Uber, AirBnb, Hostelworld + open cell phones have made travel much easier. We share the pros and cons to the changes we've experienced, and much more. If you like the podcast, join the community on Facebook + sign up for the newsletter.
