“Oh, Lord! You’ve been with me in six troubles, don’t desert me in the seventh!” -Harriet Tubman
When faced with a major challenge or problem, it’s easy for us to become overwhelmed and discouraged.
Like the character in the “Cat in the Hat” we might feel like the problem is so wide and so deep and so tall that there’s just no way at all.
Harriett Tubman had such moments. Tubman escaped slavery to secure her own freedom. But she wasn’t satisfied with her own freedom. She was determined to lead as many people to freedom as she possibly could.
Dozens of trips. Each time facing the possibility of capture, torture, imprisonment and death. Each trip was its own daunting challenge.
When faced with a new seemingly impossible problem, she remembered the way God had previously gotten her through. Then she kept moving forward.
Remember the victories you, your friends, family, and communities have achieved and face the new challenges boldly and courageously.
I’m Horace McMillon. This is 60 Seconds of Hope. Peace be with you.
