NCAA Tournament Reaction with Mike DeCourcy & LaPhonso Ellis + Mike Chappell and Don Fischer Join!
(00:00-24:31) – Query & Company opens on a Monday with Jake Query, Jimmy Cook, and producer Eddie Garrison discussing the NCAA Tournament bracket that was released last night. They try to make sense as to why the Indiana State Sycamores aren’t in the tournament despite their resume saying otherwise. Additionally, Jake teases the numbers game.
(24:31-42:15) – IU basketball and football play-by-play broadcaster, Don Fischer, joins the show for one final time before the football season to recap the season for the Indiana Hoosiers, states that Xavier Johnson was missed dramatically this season during the team’s struggles, accesses what Trey Galloway needs to improve on next season with him being one a few guards that the Hoosiers have coming back next season, and shares what he thinks makes the NCAA Tournament such an exciting event.
(42:15-43:06) – Hour one concludes with Jake and Jimmy previewing what they are going to talk about at the top of the hour.
(43:06-1:02:41) – Mike DeCourcy from the Sporting News, Big Ten Network, and FOX Sports joins Query & Company to share what surprised him from the committee’s decisions, weighs in on Indiana State being left out of the NCAA Tournament despite a top thirty NET ranking, accesses the potential second round matchup for Purdue against TCU or Utah State, and states that North Carolina got the easiest path to a Final Four out of the number one seeds.
(1:02:41-1:19:47) – Jake, Jimmy, and Eddie to the infamous “Numbers Game” that Jake does every year where a caller picks a number between one and sixty-four. Each number represents a team in the NCAA Tournament.

(1:48:23-2:03:28) – Big Ten Network and FOX Sports college basketball analyst LaPhonso Ellis joins the program to compare the officiating in the Big Ten to the rest of the conferences in college basketball, is excited to see what kind of show Nebraska’s Keisei Tominaga could put on in the NCAA Tournament, accesses what kind of team Marquette is with and without Tyler Kolek, and explains why he loves Purdue to make it to the National Championship game.
