Richard Giragosian is the Founding Director of the Regional Studies Center(RSC), an independent think tank located in Yerevan, Armenia and serves as both a Visiting Professor at the College of Europe’s Natolin Campus and Senior Expert at Yerevan State University’s Centre for European Studies (CES). He is also a contributing analyst for al Jazeera and Oxford Analytica, a UK-based global analysis and advisory firm.
Richard Ohanian holds a B.S. in Applied Physics from Azad University in Tehran, Iran, and a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). He has more than 15 years of experience in the industry as a technologist/engineer and manager. He has been with Axiom Microdevices as RFIC designer, Jet Propulsion Laboratory as RF/Microwave/Robotics Engineer and Technical Group Supervisor, as well as Cruise as Principal Engineer and Team Lead. Richard was an adjunct faculty member of Robotics and Electronics at Glendale Community College, where he also established GCC’s Robotics Academy, as well as a Lecturer of Electrical Engineering at California Institute of Technology. He won various NASA group achievement awards and has multiple U.S. patents. His publications include a physics book for high school students, which was published in Iran. Richard has founded numerous organizations such as ArmEngine (2004) and Ohaniom Enterprises (2015), and has been active in various capacities with community organizations both in Iran and the U.S.
