In the immediate aftermath of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus, Peter shared this insight with those gathered:
“Then Peter began to speak to them: "I truly understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who reveres him and does what is right is acceptable to him.” - Acts 10
The book of Acts is part of a two part series which comprises Luke and Acts. In part one Jesus begins his public ministry by reading these words from Isaiah:
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor".
Jesus later explains that everyone who loves God with their whole self and loves their neighbors as themselves will experience eternal life. And for clarification, Jesus pointed out that our neighbors must include everyone.
Peter’s insight from Jesus: No matter who we are, where we are, or how we understand, everyone who honors God by loving their neighbors is accepted by God.
