This week on The Pod Charles Cinecast, presented by The Prince Charles Cinema, our hosts Jonathan Foster and Fil Freitas watch as a little boy makes his geriatric neighbour's life miserable and thwarts a creepy robber, in classic comic strip come to life with the Home Alone finishing spray.
Next up, in the Filaversary arc, is the 1993 family comedy DENNIS THE MENACE, starring Mason Gamble (you know, Jason Schwartzman's pal in Rushmore), Walter Matthau in the role he was meant to play and the only good thing about this film, Christopher Lloyd as the weirdest creep in kid's movie history and Lea Thompson doing absolutely nothing.
No, this isn't Dennis and Gnasher for you UK fans, it's the American version, that was just called "Dennis" on this side of the pond. Don't worry, we go through all the details about the differences, and the extremely weird coincidence that there are two parallel universe Dennis the Menaces. Plus, we dive into the fun cameos, and the good, bad, and the ugly in this film that was better left to childhood memories.
"You're a pest. A menace. A selfish, spoiled little boy and I've no use for you. You took something from me that I can never get back, something that means more to me than you ever will. You understand? I don't want to see you, I don't want to know you. Get out of my way."
