10@9 Exodus Started Two Weeks Before Passover - April 3, 2024

This morning we discuss the astonishing passage in the Passover Haggadah, "You might think the story of Exodus should be told on the first day of the Jewish month of Nissan..." Why would you even think that if on that date, the Exodus had not even happened (it happened on the 15th, when we celebrate Pesach)? We provide an insight that helps explain the significance of this date, 1 Nissan (this year it occurs this Tuesday, April 9), and the way in which Exodus has two starting times. Michael Whitman is the senior rabbi of ADATH Congregation in Hampstead, Quebec, and an adjunct professor at McGill University Faculty of Law.
