“Everything you need, you have.”
How well do the worlds of football and yoga mix? Everton’s Head of Medicine and Transformational Coach, Danny Donachie, has been blending the two throughout his career at the club. He offers a “safe space to open up” in the midst of what could be thought of as a macho environment.
Danny was born in Manchester, where he spent the early part of his childhood. He lived in the United States for several years, before returning to the region to start secondary school.
Lisa Morton discovers how it was Danny’s Dad’s (Manchester City’s Willie Donachie) own journey with self-discovery that influenced the spiritual path that Danny has taken in his own life. You’ll also hear about the impact that yoga and meditation can have - and why Danny turned to football, rather than his original plan of becoming a Buddhist monk.

Your host, Lisa Morton, started PR company Roland Dransfield in 1996, one month after the fateful IRA bomb that tore apart the city centre. From that point, the business, and its team members, have been involved in helping to support the creation of Modern Manchester – across regeneration, business, charity, leisure and hospitality, sport and culture.
To celebrate the 25 years that Roland Dransfield has spent creating these bonds, Lisa is gathering together some of her Greater Mancunian ‘family’ and will be exploring how they have created their own purposeful relationships with the best place in the world.
